Review: Pure Knead Classic Sandwich Bread

Bread is the hardest part about being Gluten Free. There are so many options claiming to be "the best" in the store, when in reality, the breads are just as varied as regular bread. There is no "silver bullet" to bread.

Don't we wish there was, though?

I'd like to point out, also, that while bread is alright to consume, be careful about the amount. Gluten Free replacement food is typically very unhealthy. Bread, specifically, is commonly made from corn flours when going Gluten Free. Corn immediately turns into sugar in our bodies.

The Celiac Foundation has been doing studies on weight gain in Celiac patients and this is a cause they're looking into. Interesting stuff!!

But, without hanging onto the negative stuff, let's talk bread, shall we?

This particular bread, so far, is the best I can find in terms of absorbency, texture, and taste. It's spongey, moist, and absorbs beautifully without having tons of holes for condiments to escape. French Toast is a breeze! In fact, take a look at this decadent dish I made just recently:

Yes, I toasted the bread a smidge more than I'd prefer, but the brie was just not melting according to plan. However, look at that grilled cheese sandwich comprised of cherries, brie and chocolate! Yes! The cheese isn't poking out everywhere and the bread did not break apart! It didn't even fall apart under the moisture while eating, leading to a complete, joyful, decadent grilled cheese experience.

Commonly, I find Gluten Free breads too fragile. Pure Knead, however, was not and is now my go-to bread. I haven't discovered anything negative about it, if I'm being completely honest.

As an added bonus, their website states:

"All products are free of gluten, dairy, soy, peanuts, treenuts and shellfish, and made with all natural ingredients. All products are certified by the Gluten Intolerance Group (GIG)."

Boom. I highly recommend this bread if you're not making yours from scratch!
