I have had a craving for Spring Rolls for almost a year. I'm not a huge fan of ordering products online, so I suffered until I ran into these at Harry's Market in Marietta, GA. On a whim, I picked up these wrappers to test out and I'm quite glad I did!
While I can't say they're identical to the standard rice roll wrappers you get at restaurants, I can say that they are better. At least, in my opinion. I always found rice roll wrappers a bit flat in taste; almost like water. There is a place and time for those, don't get me wrong! I just wanted a more complete taste with my spring rolls.
These wrappers by Star Anise Foods are just the right amount of chewy in texture with a hint of brown rice taste. The taste did not interfere with the veggies and shrimp I stuffed them with, which was wonderful! The overall experience with these wrappers is a pleasant surprise!
Yes, but, how do you use them? Good question!
Julienne your veggies of choice. Make sure that you cut your meat/tofu/fish very thinly - almost like you're making sushi.
Dip the rice paper into warm water, then remove. Place all your veggies and protein inside the wrap and roll it up!
The back of the bag shows you how to wrap the rolls, which was handy! I didn't have to Google the technique!
Once they are rolled, cut in half and enjoy with some gluten free Tamari!
I use San-J Tamari Light, 50% Reduced Sodium as I do have to watch my sodium intake. Fortunately, San-J does not compromise on taste!

I used carrot, red cabbage, cucumber, small shrimp, and cilantro! Get creative and enjoy! I definitely recommend these wraps!!!
